YottaCodes ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Expensely Budget Tracker mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Data You Enter

Expensely Budget Tracker is designed to work entirely on your device. Expense entries, categories, amounts, notes, receipt images, and budget settings that you create in the App are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to this information — it never leaves your phone unless you choose to export it yourself (e.g., via the CSV export feature).

Advertising Data

The App displays ads through Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob (and its partner networks) may collect and use certain data automatically, such as:

  • Device identifiers (including the IDFA, Apple's advertising identifier, only if you grant tracking permission)
  • Approximate location (derived from IP address)
  • App usage and interaction data related to ads

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us directly. You will be asked for permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before any tracking-related identifier is used. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they'll be less personalized.

2. How We Use Information

  • Data you enter is used solely to provide the App's core functionality (tracking expenses, calculating budgets, generating reports) on your own device.
  • Advertising data collected by Google AdMob is used to display and measure ads, and to personalize them if you've allowed tracking.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your expense data with any third party — it isn't collected by us in the first place. The only third party involved is Google AdMob, which operates under its own privacy policy as described above.

4. Data Storage and Security

All personal financial data you enter stays on your device. If you delete the App, this data is removed along with it (unless your device has iCloud/local backups that include app data). We recommend using your device's standard security features (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID) to protect access to your phone and the data stored within it.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.

6. Your Choices

  • Tracking: You can allow or deny the App Tracking Transparency prompt at any time via Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your iPhone.
  • Your data: Since your expense data lives only on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing individual entries in the App or by deleting the App entirely.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
